Safety Pilot Course
We offer a short course for friends or spouses who would like to be Safety Pilots to allow them to safely land the aircraft in an emergency. This is an 8 hour minimum course that provides the Safety Pilot with the skills and confidence to talk to air traffic control and to land a aircraft safely at the nearest airport, covering
- effects of controls
- flying the aircraft in straight and level flight, to make turns and climb and descend.
- fly a circuit and land the aircraft.
- ask for assistance on the radio.
No test or medical is required and should you choose to continue your flight training towards a PPL(A) or NPPL(A) all the hours flown will count towards the minimum requirement for the private Pilots Licence.
